Dancing In The Wormhole
01:59
|
|||
You tip toe across the sidewalk
The worms spread out before your footsteps
You said the same thing about existence
That we are running away from an impending doom
And god could come down and squash us at any second
After the first spring rain I won’t be looking back over my shoulder
Sunny day studded calendar
I’m gonna go outside
Like a worm coming out of the muck
After the first spring rain
Watching you dance
Is like a quantum computer
Crunching imaginary numbers
They just don’t exist in out dimension
You turn into schrödinger’s cat
When I don’t see you for months at a time
You could be dead or alive
After the robots win
I won’t be asking you if you can come over
I wont be opening a box best left closed
I’m going back into the mud
For the winter

Outside Eyes
03:27
|
|||
Act I
What a talented actress with far too many speaking lines
I met a taloned redactress
And set the record straight
Act II
We’ll cut the scene where she is kissing you
And all her friends are watching through the window
All the things in secret that you do
The irony of outside eyes
Act III
you find that all your honesty
Is getting you nowhere
Everything is up in the air
And all the little boxes are filled with perfect squares
The message in their glare is
What a talented actress
With far too many speaking lines
And a passion for dactyls
Let’s hope she isn’t straight
Act IV
we’ll keep the scene where she is leaving you
And all her friends are sleeping in their bedrooms
All the things in secret that you do
The irony of outside eyes

Stratosfear

Traveling in my UFO
Thru the stratosphere
Only lightspeed can make my heartbeat
Faster

Time And Growth
01:16
|
|||
We wanted to understand time and growth
We wanted to understand time and growth together
We were tired of understanding that we weren’t standing on the earth
But tethered to it
I wanted to understand time and sloth
And complacency
And how all the little loves were lost now
The vacancy in my eyesight is growing
We called the earth on a landline
No one picked up
For what it’s worth
It rang
Sandy said to me
“R U free?”

Two long years of mistakes boiled down to one thick slip of a mess
By the time we second-guessed our second guess
The second guessing was getting reckless
Now I’m counting pennies for beer
With full intent
I don’t stop to think
“Maybe I shouldn’t get drunk tonight”
I’ll get ashamed at the checkout
I’ll get the spins on my bed
I’ll get a headache in the morning and
I’ll get drunk later again
One year later I’ve developed habits like a mason
I’ve built walls like the brick-layer I am
And I thought I’d left some windows
But I’m not sure that I’m tall enough
To see out of them
Watching all my favorite people
Turn into the best versions of themselves
And never knowing how to grow like that myself
I was burned by the heat
If the moment I had let go
From the get-go I was timid and bored
So I ran up to a rose bush
Took one for the scrapbook and
Took one for the road
I was caught in the beat of my own shaky tempo
I was lost in a maze of words and body-temples
I was rolled up in a rug and thrown against the wall
And all this time you’ve been dancing through my mind
And I can only tap my foot
10,000 thread count
All turn to chains now
And I’m alone again
But I keep dancing
